Berlin/Hanover, 6 October 2023. The management of Storengy Deutschland GmbH is repositioning itself: Dr Frank Fischer and Daniel Mercer are at the helm of the company since 1 October 2023. Dr Frank Fischer takes over the technical management and is also the spokesman for the management. Daniel Mercer is responsible for the commercial activities of the company.

After around five years, Catherine Gras has left the company at her own request and as planned on 30 September 2023. She is devoting herself to new professional challenges in the ENGIE Group and will remain associated with Storengy on the Supervisory Board of the German holding company. In recent years, she has played a key role in driving Storengy's transformation from a traditional natural gas storage company to an innovative energy storage company. We would like to thank her for her dedication and commitment.

Dr Frank Fischer is an engineer for energy and process technology and has around 20 years of experience in the ENGIE Group, including in the project development of new plants, in technical and commercial management, in portfolio management, in maintenance and deployment optimisation as well as in occupational safety and environmental protection. Since February 2021, he has already been Managing Director of Storengy Deutschland Betrieb GmbH, the operator of the six natural gas storage facilities in Germany. In the past two years, he has been able to acquire extensive knowledge about Storengy and the company's activities. He thus brings with him the best prerequisites to ensure a smooth transition. ‘I am very pleased about this opportunity to continue to contribute my expertise and experience to support Storengy in Germany strengthening its market position as an innovative energy storage company,’ says Dr Frank Fischer.

Daniel Mercer is a physicist and energy economist. He has also been with the ENGIE Group for around 20 years. In the course of his career, he has gained extensive experience in asset management of power and heat generation plants, portfolio management and business development. In the past four years at Storengy, he has primarily driven the further development of new business areas in the fields of hydrogen, biomethane and geothermal energy in his role as Head of Business Development. ‘I am very much looking forward to my new task and the further cooperation in the Storengy team. We have already worked together intensively and successfully on many projects. I would like to continue this: working together to shape the future of Storengy! As a dual leadership team in the management, we are ideally positioned to continue to strengthen the role of storage as a central component of the energy transition,’ says Daniel Mercer.
