Dual leadership in the management: Dr Frank Fischer becomes new Managing Director of Storengy Deutschland Betrieb GmbH

Hanover, 1 February 2021. On 1 February 2021, Dr Frank Fischer will join the management of Storengy Deutschland Betrieb GmbH. He will manage the business activities together with Dr Horst Hirschhausen, who has served as sole Managing Director since 2013.

As part of the joint management of the company, Dr Frank Fischer will be responsible for maintenance, operation & maintenance services as well as QHSE/storage technology, while Dr Horst Hirschhausen will manage the cavern storage, pore storage and technical dispatching services.

During the course of the joint management, preparations are being made for Dr Frank Fischer to take over the sole management of the company. Dr Horst Hirschhausen is leaving the company and will enter his well-earned retirement. He began his career in the energy industry in 1985 and has held various management positions in the ENGIE Group since 2008, most recently as Managing Director of Storengy Deutschland Betrieb GmbH, based in Hanover.

Dr Frank Fischer, an energy and process technology engineer, has more than 15 years of experience in the ENGIE Group. Most recently he was Managing Director at ENGIE Generation Management GmbH, renamed Onyx Generation Management GmbH in 2020, and was responsible for the operational management of several power plants. He has extensive experience in various fields in the energy industry, including the project development of new plants, technical and commercial operations management, portfolio management, maintenance and deployment optimisation as well as occupational safety and environmental protection.
